UN Women provides support to the Palestinian Government in its efforts to realize gender equality. The Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA) remains UN Women’s strategic partner, through which UN Women also cooperates with machineries for the advancement of women, namely gender units and national committees established to address gender equality and women’s empowerment issues. In view of intensifying the efforts towards the institutionalization of gender equality and women’s empowerment within the Palestinian government, UN Women has over the past few years expanded strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Planning and Administrative Development, the Ministry of Finance and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), while continuing working with key line ministries and others key governmental institutions.
